2024 (September) Training
Through CLI’s discipleship conference from Sept. 4-6, 2024, God’s kingdom and righteousness continue to grow in Tanzania. The 152 leaders who participated in this event learned how to practically root and ground new believers in their faith, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate their spiritual journey. They were also taught how to equip established believers to use their gifts within the local church, ensuring a strong and vibrant community. Each leader received a comprehensive training manual, providing them with the tools to confidently lead their congregations.
This conference was held in Korogwe, a district in the Tanga region, a rural portion of northern Tanzania. CLI provided both breakfast and lunch for all those in attendance. However, due to the rural location, many could not return home after each day because of the distance. Therefore, they were housed in the church building where the training occurred. CLI provided dinner, and Moses and Nack led evening devotions for these leaders. A CLI certificate of completion was awarded to 152 leaders.

2023 (December) Training
The two Tanzanian pastors Michael Sabo has been training since 2019 are Moses Emena and Nack Imatha. These two leaders continued to meet with the pastors and leaders from the March 2023 conference. They divided the two conferences into small groups and met with them once per month, reviewing the previously taught materials. Not only did this training deepen the understanding of the material, but other leaders heard of this training and wanted to join. Therefore, CLI printed more discipleship training manuals, and Moses and Nack met with these additional leaders to train them. The need continued to grow, and Nack and Moses wanted to duplicate the discipleship conference of March 2023. Therefore, your financial support enabled Moses and Nack to teach a three-day discipleship conference on Dec. 6-8, 2023. They used the same materials from the March conference and taught 150 leaders. It was so encouraging to see these two pastors not only catch a vision to disciple leaders but also take the initiative to plan and teach another conference without any CLI Board Members present. 2023 (March) Training
In March of 2023, Mike Brost (a CLI Board Member) and Michael Sabo took a twelve-day trip to Tanzania to continue training Christian Leaders. The training consisted of two conferences, each three days in length. The first conference taught 40 pastors How to do an Inductive Bible Study and How to Develop Expository Sermons. In this first conference, we used a software package that Logos Bible Software, a service of Faithlife Ministries custom developed for CLI to train third-world pastors. Logos named the software The Christian Leadership Institute Library. Many of you donated to CLI to purchase the necessary software for each pastor – Thank you! In the second conference, 143 leaders were taught the principles and practical strategies on how to disciple others.
2019 Training
The following pictures are from Michael Sabo’s 2019 trip to Tanzania. This twelve-day trip consisted of training 70 church leaders in personal holiness and sanctification. After this trip, Michael began weekly Zoom training with pastor Moses Emena and pastor Nack Imatha on how to study the Bible and develop Expository Sermons.
